Life Cycle Living, Seattle 2017
June 24 - June 25$35
We’d like to invite you to join us for a unique opportunity to explore the cycles of life with presenters Larry Messerman and Jessica De La O.
This program is intended to start a community conversation about a new, but really very old way of living that is crucial if we are going to live a joyful, sustainable life now and meet the needs of a future society.
All life is cyclic. We have only to look at the seasons of the year, the phases of the moon, the diurnal cycle, and the cycle of our lives from birth to death to know that this is true. First peoples lived aligned to these many cycles, and many continue to do so to this day. By the time of the Industrial Revolution, awareness of most cycles for Westerners had been replaced by a linear view of life and began to disappear.
Without this orientation, we live in a confused manner. Today so many people never find their real purpose and meaning in life because they lack the sensory intelligence that living purposely with these cycles of nature provides. Consequently depression, anxiety, addiction, emptiness and violence have increased as people struggle to make sense of a meaningless life — or give up.
There is a unique potential in every stage of life. When we align ourselves with our current stage of life, we find tremendous support from the natural world. But when we reject where we are and try to live in another stage of life, we can find ourselves unsupported and at odds with nature. As an example, corn will not grow if it is planted in late Fall; and there are no apples to be harvested in the Spring.
Please join us on a journey of discovery as we launch this new program and community-wide exploration of Life Cycle Living!
